INTRODUCTION

Do you worry about getting unique decoration for a First Communion or Baptism? When planning a Baptism and First Communion, finding decoration for special religious events isn’t always easy. Therefore, we suggest, the best way is to DO IT YOURSELF. It's far easier than you could imagine, very affordable and a lot of fun. Here’s a simple instruction of how to create unique table centerpieces for your religious event.

MATERIALS

Clear plastic box ( 6 1/4" diameter)

Glitter foam cross cutouts

2 3/4 inch Pull bow ribbon

7/8 inch Organza satin edge ribbon

Spanish printed satin ribbon

Artificial flowers, we used: #7075-White

Glue gun and glue sticks

Satin ribbon for wrapping (1 1/2 inch)

Shredded Easter Gras Paper

Embellishments e.g. plastic grape clusters, acrylic cross pendants, diamond mesh trimreligious stickers

Wooden Craft Dowel (17" tall x 1/4 inch thick) - can be purchased at any local craft or hardware store

STEPS

1. Add some hot glue to the end of a satin ribbon and attach it to one end of the dowel, covering all part of the dowel till you get to the end part where you will now add extra hot glue.

2. Use the tip of the glue gun to create a hole in the transparent plastic box so that the dowel can go through.

5. For the wood dowel to perfectly stick to the box, add some hot glue to bottom of the dowel before you pass it through the hole of the box. Hold the stick down for few seconds.

For our First Communion cross, we chose a gold glitter cross along with a grape cluster adornment representing the origin of the communion wine. Also, in the middle of the cross, we added a child foam figure and a golden JHS charm.

For our baptism centerpieces we chose a white cross, but if you like, you can as well use a silver or golden cross. Feel free to adorn the centerpiece to your taste. We decided to place an "Guadalupe" sticker in the middle on one centerpiece and a "Bautizo" sticker on the other centerpiece along with mini crucifix embellishments.
